Sometimes I take risks with my comedy - it may cross the line, it may be controversial - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Joan Rivers was another inspiration to take those risks and explore what can make people laugh.
I saw her live with my parents at a nightclub in Syracuse when I was in college. She interacted with the audience and selected my father. I still remember that night.
