PRIVATE EVENTS

For over 24 years, we have performed throughout the country, from coast to coast, for major corporations, casinos, resorts, birthdays, fund-raisers, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, bar/bat mitzvahs, sweet sixteen's, children's’ parties...you name it ! What makes us stand out from the others is that we create a new show each time. That’s right, each show is different, having been written and created for that performance only. And we can create shows based upon all sorts of themes: no matter what, each show is unique for our audience, no one ever sees the same show twice. But all our events have this in common: with each show, professional Broadway, TV and film actors are mixed in with the audience and evidence is created in which they can be implicated as suspects. And of course prizes are awarded to the winner who can solve the crime!

The general format of an evening show could be as follows – but we can work with any food plan and virtually any venue including your home:

1. The show will be divided into acts. During the prologue (group coming in), actors will make themselves known to the audience (the actors will be the victims, suspects, the criminal, police, etc.).

2. The police will ask the audience to sit down and the first act will take place: there will be a crime of your choosing which will take place, the police take over and evidence will be revealed (evidence will always lead the audience to the real criminal among them and to themselves as guest suspects).

3. There will be breaks and more acts – usually it is a course meal break but it can be a dance break or otherwise; there will be more action, and more evidence will be revealed, and more audience members will be named in certain items of evidence. Usually by the time of the final meal break, The police will announce that the ballots may now be filled out as the audience tries to guess the identity of the criminal.

4. The ballots are collected. Then the final act takes place: the police make their final summation, the criminal is revealed, arrested, etc. and then the cast is introduced and prizes are awarded.

The show will be "theatre-in-the-round" - we will work out with you the best proper floor plan for the evening. And while they are dining, the actors are seated with the audience and mingling with them. As we stated above, we also play background and dance music (although we are not professional DJ's, we do have all sorts of dance music) . Because our script will be custom written, each show will be brand new and we can also accommodate any speeches or announcements that you would like to take place during the event.

WE ARE KILLING KOMPANY - WITH A K

PLEASE - we are killingkompany - with a K.

You may recall that on February 8, we posted an open letter to another murder mystery company which advised them in part:

"THE KILLING KOMPANY is a trademark of THE KILLING KOMPANY MURDER MYSTERY DINNER SHOW, INC. - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

This is listed on our web site. Our website is killingkompany.com – that’s “company” with a K.

So, when you register the domain “killingcompany.com” - that’s “company” with a C - and have it redirected to your website: you are misleading people that your company is our company...."

In November 2017, we received an inquiry regarding a show for April 26 in Suffolk County for a school function: they had seen our shows and were very interested in using our company for an event. We spoke on the phone, etc. but never received an email confirming the event.

Yesterday, we received an email and phone call - they insisted we were doing a show for them on April 26, that they mailed a down payment, etc. But no - it appears they dealt with a "Tony" at killingcompany.com".  We wrote this group back:

"Hello:

Sorry for the confusion - this may be due to the fact that the company you hired had used a configuration of our email address which had misled some people. When we protested to them (see http://killingkompany.blogspot.com/2018/02/an-open-letter-to-another-murder.html) they stated they had stopped.

Hope your event is successful.

APRIL FOOLS ANNOUNCEMENT

PRESS RELEASE - COMEDY MYSTERY DINNER SHOWS IN NY/NJ METROPOLITAN AREA WILL NOW KILL ACTORS

April 1, 2018. The Killing Kompany, New York's leading mystery dinner theater group, announces that it will actually kill the actors in their upcoming open to the public shows in the New York/New Jersey area.

According to a spokesman for the theater group, audience members have been asking for a "greater reality in our shows, and due to the large influx of actors in the NY community, we can give our audiences what they want and at the same time give the acting community what they need ...a thinning of the herd". In accordance with AEA stage rules, non-union actors will be killed first.

There are some members of the theater community who are outraged at this development. One actor, George Spelvin, stated: "Wait a minute. Have you lost your mind? What are you talking about? Kill the actors? You can't kill the actors. Actors are not animals, they're human beings." But according to The Killing Kompany spokesman: "this is audience participation dinner theater where the actors mingle and dine with the audience and, after a generation of audience members having dined with hundreds of different cast members, they have conclusively discovered that actors are, in fact, animals and not human beings."

Some theater critics agree with this new action. One critic, who asked to remain anonymous, stated: "I have seen so many bad shows where actors have literally died on stage. Now, we have a chance to see them actually die on stage. Of course, there are some good actors who, when performing, really killed it out there and the crowd loved it. But now it's time to let the crowd kill them."

Private shows are still custom written so that clients will not only be able to have the actors actually murdered but also some of their guests. For more information call The Killing Kompany toll free at 1 888 SHOOT-EM.  For over 24 years, they have traveled all over the country performing for major corporations, hotels, resorts, casinos, as well as fund-raisers, birthdays, anniversaries, sweet sixteen's, bar/bat mitzvahs, etc. For more information, visit their web site at killingkompany.com
