CHANGE IN DATES
On our website, you'll notice that two dates for shows have changed for Riccardo's in Astoria (now September 23) and The Views At Mt. Fuji in Hillburn (now April 2) in order to accommodate private events. I have started working on titles for the 2011 shows - soon they will be up, and then the flyers.

WAITING TILL THE LAST MINUTE?
I know everyone does it but these are other problems that can arise if you want to book The Killing Kompany besides being sold out for a public performance:
1. You want to make someone a special guest suspect at a public performance but you do not give any information prior to the show.
2. You want to add to your people to your party at a public performance but seats are no longer available.
And with respect to private events:
1. You want to book an event but The Killing Kompany is already booked.
2. You booked an event but you do not give any information prior to the show.
3. You booked an event but you did not promote it until a few days prior to the event, thus low ticket sales.
Other problems can arise. As any event planner will tell you, events need planning.

Well, this can be a problem as I am told that tickets for the October 29 and October 30 shows are just about sold out. But I will discuss in the next blogs how it can present other problems too.

GETTING READY FOR A PRIVATE SHOW....
.....but still waiting for information. The shows I create are custom created and there is information I need from the client to write an appropriate show. I usually ask for this information at least two weeks prior to the show but sometimes, it doesn't come in. But if there is a website or other information I can find on the Internet, I can write the show. This is the questionnaire I give everyone so I can write the show:
"It’s time to start planning your murder mystery event. This is the fun part...We're going to make some of you guest suspects! Don't worry, you don't need to learn any lines or do anything other than be yourself and have fun! We want you to pick out 15men and 15 women as guest suspects (note: they won’t all be suspects - we pick out from the group you give us). Pick people who you think are fun and who are known to many of the audience members.
1. First and last name of each guest suspect and a brief description: married or single, residence, position and any amusing story about them that is known to just about all who attend.
2. Letterhead from the senior ranking guest suspects who will be attending.
3. Business cards (one or two) from guest suspects
4. Some pictures (one or two) of guest suspects.
5. Some info on your group, what it does, recent events, amusing stories, “buzz words”, key phrases or slogans, etc. If there's a web site with all this information, give us the URL. And if the event is to celebrate a certain person, give us as much information on that person as you can.
As soon as you can get us this information, the better. Especially the items in paragraph “5” as that will help us get an idea of the theme of your show. 2011 DATES FOR RICCARDO'S
The Killing Kompany has just worked out new dates for Riccardo's in Astoria for 2011 and they are: Friday February 4 and Friday October 21! Hope to see you at the show!

A PRIVATE SHOW - CANCELLED.
Unfortunately this happens. The Killing Kompany always suggest to private organizations engaged in fundraising that they utilize The Killing Kompany's services to help promote their event. The Killing Kompany can assist you at no cost in preparing a special flyer, a poster, a press release and assist you in the sale of tickets: The Killing Kompany has many years of experience in this. Unfortunately, not everyone feels they need these services and sometimes, especially in this economy, fundraising can go awry.

2011 PUBLIC SHOWS
As we perform tonight's show, our premiere at THE KNIGHTS INN in Newburgh, we will soon be posting our 2011 Schedule of Public shows. So far we have about 26 dates and are still waiting for two of our venues to give us their dates so there should be fun times ahead.

We have at least one for our October 9 show but we can always use more - remember: The Killing Kompany can also make someone from your party a "guest suspect". After you purchase your tickets, send me by email pics, first and last name, and some funny information of the person from your group that you want to make a special guest suspect. And you know what...you may wind up as a regular guest suspect anyway!

MORE TICKETS FOR 39 STEPS
We have agreed with the marketing firm for THE 39 STEPS to continue awarding free tickets to the Tony winning THE 39 STEPS at our shows throughout the end of the year. The vouchers we are giving out this month are good until the end of November.
