AGE APPROPRIATE?

Many times we are asked if our public shows are appropriate for children, what is a good age range, etc. 

Well, if there was a rating: the shows are “PG 13” rated: there is no obscenity or nudity, but there is adult content, are double entendres and alcohol is served. That being said, kids have always been at our shows, my children first attended these shows when they were 10 – but every parent is different.

With private events, we create special shows for younger audiences with themes they can relate too. In fact, we have performed many shows for that age group, birthday parties, graduations, etc. and they are a blast! They can be educational as well as entertaining.

The shows are sort of “PG 13” rated: there is no obscenity or nudity, but there are double entendres, some adult situations (like murder) and alcohol is served. A few places have age restrictions. You would have to contact the restaurant and find out what their policy is.

 

Also, if you're interested in a private event, let us know. We do create age appropriate shows.

CHILDRENS' PROGRAMS

We are asked many times if our shows are appropriate for children. We always advise that parental discretion is advised. Children have attended our public shows. The shows are “PG 13” rated and there is no obscenity or nudity, but there are double entendres, adult content and alcohol is served.

But we also create shows and programs just for children. We can create custom designed interactive training and awareness programs of any length and design for schools and other organizations. By combining live performance by professional stage, TV and film actors with interactive audience participation, we can help make your school seminars on specific problems and their solutions more provocative, unique and entertaining - and, of course, more effective.

And this one is a children's (11 year old) party - we have done this many times - they are mystery shows designed to entertain children.

At what age should children be allowed to see our shows?

For our "public shows" of course, parental discretion is always advised. Children have attended our public shows (from infants to teenagers). At our recent New Years Eve show, my 11 year old kids were even cast in the show. Generally, our "public shows"are PG 13 rated and there is no obscenity or nudity, but there are double entendres and alcohol is served. A few places have age restrictions.

 

But we also create special shows for children. Recently, we performed at a summer school which dealt with the issue of good sportsmanship. Later this month, we have a private event for a children's birthday party which again is just a mystery custom created for elementary school age children.

 

Because with custom created shows, anything is possible.

To Table 9 at Garden School Summer Camp!

At this show, the age group ranged from 7 -13. This was a children's mystery - who stole the Olympic Gold Medal and prize money. For groups this age, there is no "murder". We first explain to the children what they are about to see, etc. The adults are made guest suspects and the children are asked questions regarding issues children face: in this show, the theme of the mystery was cheating at sports and how some sports heroes may not be good role models and that we should choose our "heroes" carefully. We also had a dance break where the kids joined in with the "cha cha slide", "cotton eye joe", "YMCA", etc.

Also in children shows, the children solve the crime in teams supervised by an adult. Each table is a team and the children receive a small detective badge, a "handcuff" key chain, a piece of "crime scene tape" and an Ace Detective card. The Garden School Summer Camp also gave each winner a movie certificate.
